September 2010, a few days after my 45th birthday, my life changed. My left ankle started swelling up. I researched and figured out it was food related. I was beginning to have kidney problems. I vowed to change. My raw food vegan journey began.
When I began my new journey, I had no idea that I was going to become vegan nor lose 70 pounds. You see, I was in denial at just how bad of shape I was in. True, my body was retaining fluid from eating too much "table salt" (there's a huge difference between regular table salt and real sea salt), that is why my ankle was swollen, but I didn't think I was THAT bad. I just thought I needed to reduce my salt intake. Little did I know that was just the beginning. The more studying I did, the more I realized how much danger I was in. As the weeks and months went by the more other people around me started getting sick and even dying from diseases such as cancer, heart failure, etc. What did we all have in common?We weren't getting enough real living foods inside of us. I finally became a vegan with about 80% of my diet coming from raw uncooked plant based foods. My love for this new life is so huge that I wanted to share it with others so I eventually started this website, business and http://www.meetup.com/Vegan-Vegetarian-Raw-Food-Newbies-Curious-Ones GROUP.
